Thanks for checking into this blog. It consists of two parts (so far). The first part is my record of how I changed my Introduction to Public Speaking class from a standard graded class to institute “ungrading”, why I did so and how it worked out (which was pretty freaking great by the way). Then the semester ended and I took a break from the blog then covid and now I’m back to it. I have since become a true believer and am now using ungrading for all of my courses. There is a lot of discussion out there and pedagogical philosophies and so forth. I’m a bit more inclined to explain the nitty-gritty of how it works in my classes and how my students’ respond. I’m mostly talking to other professors and instructors who like the idea and want to try it but aren’t sure what it looks like on the ground. Enjoy.
